Just got back from Richmond attending and coaching the AAU world championships; heres a flash report: a detailed blow by blow account to follow later in the week. Obviously we could not be more pleased with the results. These magnificent athletes, none of whom had ever touched a barbell before 122 days ago, all came through though in the clutch - though the bus spun out of control at various times along the way…

I am slightly fuzzy about the exact poundage of Connie, Betty and Amiras squat and bench press and I might be off a pound or two one direction or another. Wednesday Ill begin an in depth day-by-day, blow by blow, lift by lift rundown of the drama and brother let me tell you there was more drama than Eugene ONeil Play. Kirk, Stacy and Julie helped coach this madhouse event. I am eternally grateful for their participation and assistance. In addition, Lee and his beautiful wife showed up with their beautiful children, as did Red (G-freak) and his lovely wife - plus my girl (and pal and adviser and friend and book collaborator) Ms Irreverent Susan Lorrie G lifted and scared the hell out of me and even the unflappable Kevin (yet won) and Marshall Peck and Larry Christ lifted and crushed all competition. Hilary of Agastar captured it all for TV. What a wild monkey ride.more on Wednesday
